Community Resources


In addition to providing nutritious foods and education, WIC also provides referrals to other agencies. There are many resources in the community to help each family meet its needs. The programs mentioned below are located in Utah County or nearby.

Accessible Homes Foundation

Seeks to provide and encourage building of handicap-accessible homes. Works from donations, contains rent/sale listings for accessible homes.


Asthma Camp

Camp Wyatt is a camp that offers children the chance to learn effective ways to handle asthma. For children ages 8-14 who are affected with asthma. Children also get to meet others who have asthma who are able to live a wonderful lifestyle. The camp also helps build self-esteem and confidence. The camp runs every year July 18-22.

Help for families with individuals who have disabilities by providing many services and education.


Deaf/Blind Program for Children

Services include family support for all family members with coping help and strategies. They also publish a newsletter. For deaf or blind children from birth to 21 years.

Family to Family Network

A partner with Utah Parent Center. Has a volunteer group of family members of those with disabilities. Purpose is to educate and strengthen families with disabled members. Calendar of activities.


Friday’s Kids Respite

Friday's Kids Respite provides volunteers and an on-site nurse to provide care for children with disabilities on Friday nights from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. The program is for children with disabilities up to 22 years of age. Parents can use the service twice a month.


Health Services for Individuals with Bleeding Disorders

The Utah Hemophilia Chapter organizes social events several times a year. They put on a summer camp for youth. Primary Children's Hemophilia Treatment Center in connection with the Utah Hemophilia Foundation provides home treatment programs and medical and dental consulting clinics for persons with hemophilia.


Muscular Dystrophy Association of Utah

Research program at the University of Utah for children with neuromuscular disease. Services include:

  • Assistance for medical and therapy treatments
  • Orthopedic equipment
  • Provides public information
  • Summer camp for children
  • Wheelchair funding

Utah Baby Watch

Early intervention for kids with disabilities.


Utah MedHome Portal

Provides information on common disorders kids have. Includes guidelines for clinical assessment, has parental education and suggestions specific for different settings (school, family life, etc.).

Recreation and Habilitation Services

Provides educational and recreational programs for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. These services help enhance the quality of life for these individuals and their families by helping them achieve maximum independence.


Utah State Developmental Center

Provides a 24-hour residential and active treatment environment for individuals with developmental disabilities.
