BeWise Program

The BeWise services are for women 50-64. It is an extension of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening. Eligibility is based on household size and income. Women with insurance may qualify.

BeWise services will provide a free blood pressure check, cholesterol, sugar/glucose screenings, a voucher for a free mammogram, breast exam, pap test, and if treatment necessary, first visit to medical provider will be paid. A Lifestyle Coach will review screenings and assist women in setting personal goals.

The BeWise Program also offers FREE mini Fairs or classes for our clients, but the classes are also open to the public. The classes are about 1 hour long, and offer instruction on health topics such as cholesterol, diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cooking Healthy, Physical Activity, and mental wellness. All classes are offered at the Health and Justice Building on 151 S. University Avenue. Please see the BeWise Class Schedule for 2010 to see exact dates and times and room locations.
