FUN EVENTS TO HELP OUR VOLUNTEERS
SERVE BETTER

SERVICE PROJECTS

Each May Senior Companions join with the Foster Grandparent Program to tie quilts. The Harley Owners Group (the HOG's) donate money for material. Donna Stevens buys all the material and puts them together so that they are all ready to tie. The volunteers usually tie about 50 quilts in one day. When they're all done the HOG's take the quilts to local hospitals for the children who are patients there.

TRAINING

The Senior Companion Grant provides money for monthly training. Each month we get together, have lunch and learn something new! Some of the trainings have been about health and nutrition, adult protection, finances, home health etc. We always have a good time!

PICNICS

In July we have our "July Picnic". It is usually held at the Orem Park by the Frienship Center. We have yummy food, a speaker, and a game or two. Our friends from the Harley Davids's Owner Group (the HOG's) come and give a ride on their motorcycles to any volunteer who dares to go. The Senior Companions love this event.

RECOGNITION

Each year the Senior Companion Program honors all of their wonderful volunteers with a Recognition Banquet. It is a very nice event with a nice lunch, entertainment, and gifts. We really try to make our volunteers know how much we appreciate the service they provide.
