A 56 year old man from Logan, Utah was killed after being struck by a train in Spanish Fork Canyon. He was on a railroad bridge while hunting with his son.

On November 30, 2013, at about 1:53 PM, dispatchers with Utah Valley Dispatch Special Service District received a call from Union Pacific Railroad Dispatch reporting that a man walking on the tracks was hit by a train and killed. This happened in Spanish Fork Canyon where the rail lines run near the highway at about mile marker 219.5 on SR-6. The man, Stanley Lawrence "Larry" Litizzette, age 56, of Logan, Utah, was hunting in the area with his son. According to the son, Mr. Litizzette was walking on the railroad tracks and was on a railroad bridge that crossed over the Price River in this area. The son reported that his father was struck by the train and thrown into the river. The son retrieved his father from the river and said it was obvious he was deceased. Mr. Litizzette's body was taken to the Office of Medical Examiner in Salt Lake. There are some questions that remain unanswered and the investigation continues.
