Deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office responded early Sunday to Squaw Peak Overlook to a report of a naked man being disorderly and acting in a threatening manner.
At about 6:15 AM on April 28, 2013, deputies with the Utah County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the area of Squaw Peak Overlook in Provo Canyon to a report of a naked man who was being disorderly. When two deputies first arrived they found the man about a 1/4 mile south of the overlook parking lot in some scrub oak.
As one of the deputies called to the man, whom they did find to have no clothing on, he responded by charging one of the deputies. This deputy deployed his Taser but it malfunctioned. The man, Dallin Brimhall, age 26, Provo, became engaged in a physical altercation with this deputy. The second deputy deployed his Taser and the two were able, for a short time, to subdue Brimhall. He continued, then, to be combative and resisted the efforts of the deputies. A Taser was used a second time until deputies were able to secure Brimhall in their custody.
After securing Brimhall deputies called for an ambulance to respond from Provo. During this time Brimhall continued to resist deputies and try to escape. When paramedics arrived they evaluated Brimhall as well as they could and administered medications in an effort to calm him. Brimhall was then transported to the emergency room at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
As of 3:45 PM, April 28, Brimhall is still at the emergency room undergoing evaluation and treatment. At this point deputies and medical personnel have been unable to determine what may be contributing to Brimhall's behavior. Initial toxicology screens were negative. Whether he has some kind of drugs or medications in his system or is suffering some kind of mental health crisis is still unclear. It has yet to be determined what, if any, charges Brimhall could face. If he is charged it could include charges of Lewdness, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest.
