Community Resources


In addition to providing nutritious foods and education, WIC also provides referrals to other agencies. There are many resources in the community to help each family meet its needs. The programs mentioned below are located in Utah County or nearby.

Adult and Alternative High School Education

Provides alternative high school programs. Free day care (limited space) for students when in class.


BYU English Language Center

ESL classes for adults $20. Fall/Winter semesters.


Department of Workforce Services

  • Employment
  • GED/training workshops

  • Retroactive medical assistance


Family Literacy Center

Offers effective literacy tutoring to families and individuals.


LDS Employment Service

Assists people to become more self-reliant by providing the following services:

  • Finding employment
  • Obtaining additional education or vocational training
  • Starting their own businesses


Mountainland Advanced Technology College

Project Read

Provides a one-on-one tutorial program to non-literate adults to improve their reading and writing skills. Helps these individuals meet their personal goals, function well in society, and become more productive citizens. Must be 16 years of age or older.
