Multiple dwelling unitsSecondhand smoke (SHS) is the third leading cause of preventable disease in the US. There are 53,000 people who die each year as a result of secondhand smoke exposure. A neighbor’s smoking can bother residents living in apartments and condos. SHS from one housing unit to another may seep through cracks, or travel by a shared ventilation system and enter into the living space of another.
