Small Animal 4-H & Open

A small animal is a chicken, guinea pig, pigeon or rabbit.

Entries Due : August 8, 2010 (Call 801-667-3650 to enter or for questions.)

Check In : 9:00 am to 11:00 am - August 18, 2010

Check Out : 9:00 am on Sunday, August 22, 2010 - NO EXCEPTIONS

Judging

All animals will be judged in a group placement, premiums will be awarded - First, Second and Third.
There will be trophies for the Grand Champion over each division - chicken, guinea pig, pigeon or rabbit. 4-H and Open and a $25.00 cash prize for the Best in Show chicken, guinea pig, pigeon and rabbit.

For a Best in Show, there must be at least 10 animals in the group being judged.

General Rules

  • Exhibitors will be responsible to care for the needs of their animal daily - food, water and bedding (if needed), or make arrangements with the supervisor.

    CAGES MUST BE KEPT CLEAN

  • Each exhibitor will need to bring their own cages.
  • Show management is not responsible for any damage, accident or death of any exhibit while at the show.
  • Sick animals will not be accepted. The supervisor, or their assistant, shall be the judge as to what constitutes a sick animal. No healthy animals are to be removed from the exhibit without permission from the supervisor.
  • All animals on exhibit shall be inspected daily by a competent person.
  • Any healthy animals taken before the checkout time will forfeit any prize money, trophy or award that might have been given.

Awards

  • 4H and Open Classes will be judged separately by the Danish A, B and C system in all of the small animals.
  • There will be a Grand Champion in the 4H and Open Classes, with an overall Best in Show* in each category.

*There must be at least 10 entries in a category for a Best in Show.*
