News

Former Utah County Recorder, Randall Covington, retired at the end of July 2009 after serving as the Recorder for 15 years and working for Utah County Recorder's office for nearly 32 years.

Randy started employment at the Recorder's Office in 1978 in the mapping department. He became the map room supervisor and served in that position for many years until his predecessor, Nina Reid, retired. Randy then ran for the office and was elected the county recorder.

Randy oversaw the office through Utah County's tremendous growth in population during the last decade and a half. His foresight led the department through the implementation of several new technologies, which allowed his employees to do far more work and to do it more accurately and efficiently. His implementation of these technologies saved Utah County taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars during the time of his administration.

While serving as Recorder, he also served on several national boards and was also President of the Utah Counties Recorders Association and President of Utah Association of Counties. Randy was highly respected by his peers and his employees. He will be greatly missed. We wish him, his wife Elisabeth and his family, the best in years to come.
