Valley Emergency Communications Center (VECC) dispatches 9-1-1 emergency calls for a majority of communities in the Salt Lake Valley. Averaging nearly 1,500 calls a day, VECC dispatches for fire and law enforcement agencies as well as for medical emergencies. In cooperation with its subscribing cities and the AGRC, VECC has developed a spatial database of streets, roads, and highways, complete with address ranges, and assigned jurisdictions using a central SDE server for editing. Please join us for an informative afternoon on how VECC operates and implements its GIS.
You can contact Joe Borgione, GIS Coordinator with VECC at jborgione@vecc9-1-1.com for more information.
