MISSION STATEMENT
| The mission of the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food is to insure a high-quality, safe, readily available and sustained supply of food and fiber for the citizens of the state of Utah. |

| In doing this, we will promote the responsible stewardship of our state's land, water and other resources through the best management practices available. We will promote the economic well-being of Utah and her rural citizens by adding value to our agricultural products. We also agressively seek new markets for our products. And we will inform the citizens and officials of our state of our work and progress. |

| In carrying out that mission, department personnel will take specific steps in various areas of the state's agricultural industry. |
